On the 1st instant I received from the Council in charge of the Government of Macao, the accompanying communication, enclosing copy of the Chinese Commissioner's reply to the letter which they addressed to that functionary announcing the assassination of their Governor, and also copy of their rejoinder to the Commissioner's reply.
